2020 has been a tough year on all of us. We've taken in so much negative energy that it's affecting the way we feel and operate. Everything from over-eating to over-working has challenged us both physically and mentally. I've put together 5 things I'll be doing to reset.
1.Start with Fresh Energy
A blank canvas is the perfect start to your new beginning. I start by opening all of the windows in my house. This preps my space for cleansing. After all of the windows are open I light my sage bundle and allow it to burn for about 30 seconds before blowing it out. (Alternatively, you can use a sage air mist if you are sensitive to smoke) Sage is natures way of removing bacteria from the air and improving your air quality. It is also used to clear your space of negative energy. While the smoke is billowing from the sage bundle, I enter every room of the house and repeat the mantra " My space is clear, my space is safe." You can come up with your own mantra of course. Afterwards, close the windows and light your palo santo stick. Palo Santo, also known as the "holy wood" is said to welcome positive energy into your space. Use the remaining time to collect your thoughts, meditate and enjoy your new energy.
2. Map out your goals and ideas
Writing in a diary was the "it" thing to do in middle school but most of us have let that practice go. With everything I've endured this year, I began to feel alone in my thoughts and wondered what would be the best way to express myself. A friend explained to me that journaling allowed her to get her feelings out in a healthy way so I thought I'd give it a try. Not only did it help me release my moments of anger, but it also was a place for me to write down daily goals and aspirations. Journaling is great because you're completely in control of when you write, how you write and what your write. To be such a little thing it makes quite the significant difference.
